Us and the club

There’s the difference between me and the club.

Some ask why is it that the club has so much money to do media projects and you are broke?

Simple understand for every dollar the clubs make on HazzardAyre etc, I only get 5cents of that dollar. Only 5 cents, a nickel. A Nickel don’t buy much.

So that’s the answer. But there is a change and it’s a bit unsettling for some core members since we never signed onto club duties to make money, but for the causes that the radio werx and all are dedicated to and for. Those being first preservation of Southern history and Heritage, second the aviation community of Naval and Marine combat squadrons and third the trucking/towing community. Outside of that its more of a gearheads plethora. However and club major elections are rapidly approaching, and a reconstruction of the entire organization that over all is known as the Hazzard County Syndicate aka Grits Connection.

While the President of the Hazzard Knytes is and is a fixed position him being Ben Jones aka Cooter of DOH fame, the rest of the club is a bit more lax. From VEE-PEE to me as the Mountain West XO, there has never been a discussion of money for duties.

But fuel although at reduced prices these days is still not the low dollar that it used to be. Lodging, feed and fees for outside vendors more needs to be ingested funds wise to individual charters and us doing the foot work.

Although minor in scope, the club has said starting in 2016 club officers will get a small wage of $10.00 for charter officers, $100.00 per hour for executive officers.

To round this out, HazzardAyre and Highway Hooker the only show on radio for those who tow has been picked up for 2016 by XM Satellite, on the open road channel.

At $100k per channel one for HazzardAyre for all Dukes fans and supporters, and $100k for Highway Hooker, means we have regained the income that we nearly had in Gooding when old Rich Strickland pulled the plug in 2010.

So if it means me bunking in Utah for another year , so be it.

What does that mean for me?

That in my next entry, but blessings come from the strangest places, but pulling the plug and running to Wyoming, right now is a bit premature. But even that could change. Let you know on that on Monday.
