Thanksgiving in the radio station

wolf with a blog

Happy Thanksgiving to ya’ll. My Thanksgiving dinner included the auntre of one Turkey pot pie, a quart of milk and a Hostess fruit pie, enjoyed solo in the confines of the radio studio.

Was praying that our Prospect Tim, from Fairfield Idaho would call or come by, but guess he didn’t get out of Texas in time, or something.

Had every intention of going with Time to the Twin Falls area, so that I could enjoy Thanksgiving with Charlie and the rest of the club there, introduce Tim to the rest of our still domestic members, then Monday morning have Tim, drive me to Danny’s to fetch LexiBelle and come back here, load my stuff in a Uhaul trailer and make one graceful exit.

But hey now need to rework the plan.

Which is exchange Wolf-Pup for General JaXson, on Monday, and get moved to Wyoming. That’s the current plan, but here’s where Marine training comes in. The Corps always taught have at least two contingency plans before engaging a battle or project.

The thoughts of what if, can’t do Wyoming, what if I need be here , get one of the places in Tooele, retain the Mountain West Charter of the club here in Woods Cross, and do a commute for a month. Work out something with CenturyLink, for a month then see what hits after first of the year.

The thing is the Knytes want to re-establish a Idaho state Charter. While I myself have no real intention of going there, the candidates for Charter President are Dale Anyia of Boise, and Videl Prunenda of Blackfoot. Of the two my vote is with Videl. Videl joined the club, in 1988 , established himself with me and the club, in service to the membership, and really took me to holiday dinners two or so years in a row. The idea is to keep the offices or club houses close together so as to make it easier for all members to access. That would mean Idaho: Malad or Burley, Wyoming , Evanston, Utah Woods Cross or preytell Ogden. Utah’s state President would be of several but my vote is for Kent Nielsen of Roy Utah. Kent has been a faithful member, but is currently deployed, as such associate Keith, Adams who spent most of the night and last two days with me would be acting State President until Kent gets home.

As for me I’ll remain region XO and be the supervisory liaison between membership at large and the local Charters.

With a planned in 2016 of a XM satellite pickup of the two radio gigs, Highway Hooker the network, and show the only show on radio and HazzardAyre, for Dukes fans and enthusiasts, that $200K into the coffers each month, of which only a quarter of that is needed for operation of the radio/TV werx, the rest can and will go for beefing up promotions for the clubs themselvez. This means influx of membership prospects, and pledges. Which is all they can be after a two year prospect which means prospective member, not yet patched. The patch and blood oath comes after a new member proves him or herself to the club, and yes full club membership has been open to riding/flying/trucking women as well as men, even to the point of holding club officer posts.

Many have asked , why don’t YOU, meaning me, take over as Chief President of the club. First that spot by code of the club is Ben Jones, aka Cooter. Ben and wife Alma are doing a great job, and no plans are made to change that. The flow of DOH will stay in the club.

Outside of that , being a full acting President is a job, much harder than what I have, and I like having supervisory people over me, the responsibility of being the head chief over 49,999 members, and their families is overwhelming. As it is the President and club board gives the orders, I do the ground work, the club reaps the benefits. I like it this way.

Plus my health is diminishing every day, my eye sight is going away one blood vessel at a time due to type2 diabetes, if I fly again at least full time except for experimental helicopters and all will be a miracle. Which is why I bust my ass on the media werx, as outside of building custom bikes, and towing, I can sit on my six doing radio. Even if it need be by brail, and feel. I had to get to the point of real decision, not only by myself but by flight doctors who said the days of me doing Mach 6 or even 400 in a Corsair are over. About the only big wing byrd I can fly with a second seat, is a T-6 or Stearman. Past that I’m in the hangar with a wrench and socket set.

So wonderful Thanksgiving, hope Christmas will be better.
